"Into The Groove" is one of Madonna's most loved dance songs - but ironically, the "Desperately Seeking Susan" tune never entered the U.S. Hot 100. Since it was never released as a 7" single - and only as the B-side to the 12" of "Angel" - it didn't qualify to enter Billboard's pop chart. (Curiously, it did hit No. 19 on the Hot Black Singles chart.) The track became her first U.K. No. 1 and still holds the record for her longest running chart topper there (four weeks, tied with "Vogue"). In the U.S., the video (made up of footage from "Desperately Seeking Susan") was firmly rooted in heavy rotation.
