"Cherish" was the third single from "Like A Prayer" and it spent two weeks at No. 2 in the U.S. Produced by Madonna and Patrick Leonard, it climbed to No. 3 in the U.K. and was a top ten hit in many other countries. The video for the single, directed by Herb Ritts, was a playful mermaid-inspired beach romp.
