Remixers on Madonna*s newest single, What It Feels Like For A Girl, have enough star power to keep Southern California from rolling blackouts. Grammy nominated Richard Humpty Vision, the worlds most popular DJ Paul Oakenfold, Above and Beyond, Victor Calderone and Tracy Young have all put their spin on the new single.

Madonna and Guy are collaborating once again. First, it was their beautiful son, Rocco. Then there was that hilarious skit they did for British Awards. Currently and most controversial is their latest video for Madonna's What It Feels Like For A Girl. However, they are at it again. This time, it's not working on a future new video,....the two are to make a commercial for the BMW-one of the most high performance cars in the world. Madonna will star as herself in this advertising campaign for the BMW while Guy Ritchie will direct her. The story involves a confused and nervous Madonna rushing out of a hotel, pursued by the paparazzi. She dives into a waiting taxi cab and yells at the driver Get me out of here!. When the driver, played by British actor, Clive Owen, asks Madonna where she would like to go she says, "Take me wherever," to which he replies "Madam, I'm going to give you the ride of your life."

An insider to the filming said: "The whole film is dark and quite scary. Madonna ends up going on this wild ride. When she heard about the script she loved it." The advertisement is the first in a series of 10-minute mini movies to be broadcast on the internet next month and perhaps at the cinema and on TV later on.

Madonna's What It Feels Like For A Girl video, directed by her hubby Guy Ritchie, is set to air simultaneously on MTV and VH1 (along with a streaming video feed from AOL as well), on Tuesday, March 20th at 11:30 pm.

But here's the rub: It won't be added to either music channel's regular rotations. Bowing to current day, politically correct pressures they have chosen to error on the side of caution and air it in its entirety only once due to the graphic violence it depicts. In the video, Madonna, after picking up Grandma, threatens police officers with a squirt gun while sideswiping there vehicle, crashes into another car full of men who wink at her, and mugs a man at an ATM with a stun gun before running her stolen car into a lamppost in what appears to be an intentional act (although, in classic Madonna fashion, this is open to viewer interpretation).

Madonna explains that she is portraying a self-described nihilistic pissed-off chick, and goes on to say that "the video shows my character acting out a fantasy and doing things girls are not allowed to do. This is an angry song and I wanted a matching visual with an edgy dance mix."

"There's a lot of violence in the video," adds Liz The Validator Rosenberg. "It tells the story of a woman who has probably been abused. it's very strong. it's not the last video you'd want to see before going to sleep at night."

Does Madonna die in the video? According to Guy, all the answers to the video can be found in Greek mythology. Hmmm.

Warner Bros. Records reports that the RIAA has now certified Madonna's Music video: GOLD Short Form Video.

Madonna wins Best International Pop Album of the Year at the Hungarian Golden Giraffe Awards (the Hungarian equivalent of the U.S. Grammys).

Madonna garners two Porin 2001 Croatian Phonographic Awards nominations (the Croatian equivalent of the U.S. Grammys): Best International Pop/Rock Album for Music and Best International Music Video for Music.

The video for Madonna's next single WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL directed by her husband, acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie, will premiere simultaneously on MTV and VH1 [U.S. channels] on Tuesday evening, March 20th at 11:30 p.m. EST/ PST for one time only as part of their news program.

The provocative video, filmed on the streets of Los Angeles, features Madonna portraying a nihilistic pissed off chick out on the town with her grandmother on a car crash/crime spree. "Filled with ironic humor and potential controversy, the video shows my character acting out a fantasy and doing things girls are not allowed to do. This is an angry song and I wanted a matching visual with an edgy dance mix," stated Madonna.

Madonna, considered one of the true masters of the video medium, has won several Grammy and MTV Awards for her videos during the span of her legendary career and hopes this video will make people ask questions and open dialogues.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL is the third single from her current CD, Music, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Although not officially confirmed, Madonna is scheduled to go on a worldwide concert tour this summer, her first in over seven years.

Madonna World Tour buzz is kicking into high gear! "I'm finally going to fucking drag my ass into a rehearsal studio [for her first world tour since 1993]," Madonna said in a recent interview. "I never want to repeat myself. I don't see the point of doing a show unless you offer something that is going to mind-boggle the senses, she elaborated. it's not enough to get on the stage and sing a song. it's all about theatre and drama and surprise and suspense. So I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also nervous about it."

Madonna takes top honors for Best International Female Artist at this year's Brit Awards show. Other winners include Eminem for Best International Male, U2 for Best International Group, and Robbie Williams for Best British Male Solo Artist and Best British Video for Rock DJ. Madonna was unable to attend the ceremony, but her hubby Guy Ritchie accepted the award via video on his wife's behalf. Madonna could be seen in the background of the video, though, dusting a picture of Queen Elizabeth II, in a humorous spoof on just how much Madonna and the Brits come to fancy each other in the months since she set up homestead there.
